The world is moving to the 4IR and the technology is constantly changing for the better it was important for Sakhisizwe to partner with MICT in offering technology programs. Which better way to start than doing fibre Optics technicians seeing that government is investing in the infrastructure to put fibre in the communities and that fibre will need technicians to maintain it that why Sakhisizwe saw fit to train young people on an Accredited Telecommunication network operation (Fibre Optics Technicians),
South Africa in past 10 years has embarked on the Infrastructure Development which includes among other building Road, Bridges, Shopping centres and other infrastructure of Housing for people. This infrastructure will need some sort of maintenance and workers with skills like Plumbing electricians to be employed or even small entities like cooperatives to partner with large businesses as sub-contractors. Sakhisizwe has programs that are construction related and that falls under Construction Seta (CETA)
With Large number of companies being deregistered by CIPC each day, we believe it the clear indication of challenges faced by new companies which mainly derived from lack of training and mentorship.
It is with these reasons that Sakhisizwe saw it fit to do these accredited New Venture Creation Trainings with the focus being on Women and Youth, and cooperate these trainings with Mentorship and enterprise development.
This is a necessary program this program seeks to capacitate informal facilitators and even teachers and mainly community collages facilitators and independent facilitators. This training give opportunity to people to be self-employed or employed by registered institutions mainly TVET’s. HR people can also benefit greatly in this progress We have again partnered with Lamanisi Academy in offering these trainings.
With the Shortage of food in our country there is a need to produce more small farmers and to capacitate our people especially young people on basic farming so that they may plant their own vegetables in their back yards. We all know that this sector is still a white male dominated sector and in instances where government does give land to small minority of black people the majority of those beneficiaries still sell the land back to government for money because they don’t have skills, those who have little skills they are not given proper mentorship and support.
Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture and is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, growing produce from the ground up using tunnel. This is a sustainable way of farming because you can plant winter crops in summer and summer crops in winter as it allows you control of the temperature. Sandile Khulu one of the directors of the company in 2015 went to China for An Aquaponics training program that was fully sponsored by the government of People’s Republic of China and South African Government.
The program saw representative from African countries and South American countries coming together to learn how Chinese’s are able to feed their population of 1.2 billion people using different technologies in farming including Aquaponics farming which is a combination of Aquaculture which is Fish Farming and Hydroponics Farming which is crop farming.
Months that Sandile spent in China was worth it He went to 3 Provinces including Beijing capital city of China and but they were based in the province called Yangling which is considered as one of those provinces specializing in Hydroponics, Aquaculture and Aquaponics. A certificate was issued by the Mayor of the town we were in after 2 Months of Productive learning and Culture Sharing with 15 African countries that were there including Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Egypt just to name the few and Argentina, Pakistan and India.
